Descending from a long line of witches, Daire Delacroix has been practicing magick since she was a witchling. With the gift to see all magick and devastating talent, her powers are unparalleled. But when her mother mysteriously falls ill and dies suddenly, no magick in the world can save her, nor bring her back.

Bitter and vengeful, Daire shuts herself away for six months, only to be lured back to the Wiccan world to celebrate her mother's favorite holiday, Beltane. When Shadow people attack unprovoked at one of the most renowned Wiccan festivals, putting one of her friends into a deep coma reminiscent of her mother's illness, Daire’s world begins to fall apart once again.

Now with the Shadows growing violent and haunting Daire, she is determined to find answers to both her mother and her friend's strange illnesses. The deeper she searches, the more secrets come to light, and the more embroiled she becomes in something she does not truly understand.
