The Dark Marquis
by
Dina Hawthorn
For twenty-five years, all I’ve wanted is vengeance.
The only thing I have left of my family is the castle – my home, my legacy – plagued by vermin and funded by the Bratva. It’s the seat of power I’ll soon reclaim, and I’ve vowed to let nothing distract me, least of all a woman.
I have a plan for overthrowing the order that obliterated my family, but first I’m ordered to complete one last assignment: steal a rival’s only daughter, repair her fractured mind, and allow her to be used as a pawn.
There’s only one problem: Alexandra doesn’t just complicate my plans – she’s an obsession that weakens me.
Can I afford what she will cost me?

I cannot get enough of this book

Wow.
Honestly, yeah. That's my review - wow.
I've read TDM after the main series, and I've debated the whole time if I did good or if I should've read TDM before the series. Maybe because I have a very very soft spot for Hugh and I wanted to be surprised and shocked by everything, but then again, I hadn't read the main series first, I wouldn't have a soft spot for Hugh.
Daddy Hugh. Just saying, for the sake of clarity. Cuz he's a total Daddy.
This might be my favourite book of the entire year, and yes, aware it's only July.
Dina has managed to challenge everything I knew about myself and my reading choices, because TDM is DARK, BRUTAL, MERCILESS.
And oh my god, I want more of it.
Yes, I want my heart ripped to shreds, I want that soul-wrenching pain, I want the random shouts of victory - weirding people out around me - for the small mercies the book brings.
My god, to be loved by a man like Hugh so... all encompassing, so absolutely, and so completely.
Alexandra is beyond strong and courageous. I only shouted at her maybe twice. :D
She has a spine of steel and a will to live beyond comprehension. To watch her development is amazing.
Brilliantly dark. Gorgeously heart-breaking.
Brace yourself. And read it! And love it.
And don't touch Hugh cuz he's mine. (And Alexandra's, but these are just details)
