About the Author

Bryson P. Owens

Bryson explores the pits and peaks of the human experience through the lens of science fiction and fantasy. As a Black bisexual man Bryson never fit perfectly in the boxes that the world tried to put him in. In response, he dedicates his stories to the misfits of the world. Those who have felt mistreated, misunderstood and discarded by society. At the age of five he affirmed his acting ambitions to his parents; at eleven, he began creating his own superheroes; and at fifteen he drafted the first iteration of The Secret Society (then titled ‘A Summer Series: Secrets of June). In 2018, Bryson was the first in his family to graduate with his Bachelor's degree in Communications and followed it with a Masters degree. The transitionary period between his college years and adult years solidified the intended purpose of his stories. Though young, Bryson isn't naive. He understands the responsibility of telling a portion of humanity’s story; and is dedicated to pushing the boundaries in hopes of leaving a memorable chapter in the book of our persistent evolution. He doesn’t promise that his writings will prevent the world from collapsing. But they will keep us entertained, touched, distracted, and empowered if it ever does.
