I'm Fine Save Me
by
LJ Daniel
Escapism is how Tegan copes with the pressures of being the only neurotypical person in her household. Her husband Cooper knows that his spiraling mind, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and Autism are a lot to handle. He’s not always the best version of himself for the love of his life.
He agrees that Tegan needs an escape. Online role play is where she finds it. Creating fictional worlds with others helps her relax and cope with what she can’t change about reality. Time and again she learns that very few can respect the boundaries of her marriage.
When Morgan enters the chat, she learns that they aren’t all the same. She finds an anchor in the chaos, and someone who sees the woman she was before so many broke her down. He sees her struggles, and encourages her to admit when she’s not fine…but he can’t save her from everything.

"Disclaimer: I am not an expert in Autism, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, or Bi-Polar Disorder. All experiences shared are from lived experiences as a caregiver, Mother, spouse, and long long conversations with my husband who battles all of the above. Mental Health is not a cookie cutter presentation for everyone, especially when it comes to overlapping disorders. Keep in mind as you’re reading that Cooper’s thoughts are not always linear and might only make sense to him. The purpose of his POV is to give you that inside look into the way his mind processes situations. My DM’s are always open if you get lost in him.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS A DEBUT NOVEL!!!!
sycokittykat - Stefanie
Wow....I am absolutely shocked by this book and even more so by the fact that this is her first book.
This book is so real and absolutely raw. In a family where only Tegan is neurotypical she uses her writing and online roleplay to help escape the pressures. She also has online emotional relationships through her writing groups. Her husband, Cooper, knows of these and is absolutely okay with them as he knows she needs someone when he is unable to over come his spiraling mind, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and Autism.
When Tegan meets Morgan he is exactly the type of support she needs. He specifically talks to both her and Cooper about what is to be expected and how interactions are to be handles. I absolutely love the care and attention Morgan give not only to Tegan but also to Cooper as well. He genuinely cares about the whole family.
This book is beautiful, raw, real, and will absolutely have you bawling. If you are a caregiver you will feel seen in ways you never expected. While I have never had experience with the spectrum I have had experience with other mental health issues and I understand the struggles of feeling overwhelmed and unsure if anything you do is enough. Morgan is the most open, honest and genuine person and he fits in with this seamlessly.
Now this is a duet and in typical duet fashion they always leave you with a cliffhanger that will leave you gasping. This book takes that to heart and even days after finishing the book (I seriously had no idea how to review such a powerful book that tore me open) I am still be haunted by the final line and am desperate to find out what happens next.
I am amazed by L.J. Daniel and I can't wait to see what happens next both in this duet and everything else still to come.
