My Keepers

My Keepers

by

E.J. White

The Keepers is a dystopian reality novelette about survival, motherhood and the cost of hope.

In a world where a community is rounded up, worryingly segregated and forced to reproduce, freedom is nothing more than a distant memory. Bea has learned to survive the Keepers and the cruel world they’ve created. But when her son Eli is born, survival is no longer enough. Desperate to protect her boy, Bea will risk everything to keep him close.

But in a world where the Keepers control everything, some truths are better left undiscovered.

The Keepers is a dark and unsettling story about captivity, motherhood and the lengths one mother will go to save her child. Although this is a work of fiction, elements of the story are inspired by real events. Real practices and experiences are explored throughout, but have been dramatised and reimagined for the purposes of the story.

About the Author

E.J. White

Eliza Jane White (E. J. White) is a British author who writes under a pen name.

She has published other well-received works under different names and is a mother to two young daughters, living in Hampshire, UK.

With a background in science and healthcare, Eliza has worked within the medical field and has experience in medical research. Her professional background has given her a particular interest in the human experience, vulnerability and the many issues that affect the world around us.

Eliza has a deep love for animals and is passionate about protecting them, as well as advocating for those who are vulnerable or unable to speak for themselves. She is also passionate about raising awareness of mental health and wider issues facing society and the world.

At the heart of Eliza’s work is a simple belief: that humankind was meant to be the gardener of this world, not its master. We have a responsibility to protect the planet and all those who live within it.

Somewhere along the way, Eliza believes we lost sight of that responsibility. Her hope is that, by questioning where humanity has gone wrong and trying to restore empathy, we might begin to understand how to put things right — before it is too late.
