Since losing her childhood home, Milia has yearned to return to the quiet peace she grew up with while living in an abandoned farmhouse. Yet that childhood was a lie. Werewolves rarely know peace.

Leaving her idyllic farmhouse, Milia is forced to live with humans. She must learn their ways and how to keep her werewolf identity a secret. Forced to attend high school, Milia makes friends with her next-door neighbor, a boy named Marty, and his Great Dane. At first, being surrounded by humans seems like a bad idea. Then one night, Milia discovers a dark hunger stalking her. Now fortuitously shielded by humans, Milia continues to live her life, aware of the hunter but unable to confront it. She thinks she's safe, but what if the hunter isn't actually stalking her?
