The battle at the Borderlands is over. The Corvens won...or did they?

But the alleged victory came at a cost, and that cost has followed them home.

Eldergloom itself is waking up, and it is not waking up gently. What the realm's long silence once held back is stirring in the wreckage, patient and hungry and no longer contained. The things that survived the Borderlands confrontation are only the beginning.

The Corvens do not get to rest on what they won. They have to live with what it took from them, and face what it woke up in the process. Meanwhile, back in Lincoln, Lee's mother, Rose, returns from military deployment to find something is very wrong.

What Remains of Gods is the direct continuation of Wielder of the Wraithfire, picking up in the fragile, uneasy space after the fighting stops, where a family has to reckon with the price of survival even as new and older horrors begin to move.
