Later Portals, Current Connections
El Hoffman
What if the smallest moments were the ones that shaped the world you haven’t reached yet?
From the author of The Ever-Dark, the first book in The Indirettan Chronicles, as well as No Other Reason, comes a multi‑genre collection of short stories set in the human side of the Indirettaverse—before the portal opens and the consequences arrive.
Later Portals, Current Connections follows characters in farmers markets, laundromats, synagogues, cat cafés, grocery aisles, and rainy sidewalks—ordinary places where the first threads of something larger begin. Some stories are romantic, some are literary, some are humorous, and some are speculative, but each one reveals frictions, choices, and characters that are later brought into the Indirettaverse.
Profound, warm, sharply observed, and gently strange, this collection is for readers who love character‑driven stories, intersections of genre, and the concept of a multiverse.
A few of these stories first appeared in literary anthologies, but all are original works by El Hoffman.
Welcome to the Indirettaverse.
